Christina and Rainer Wess, Christina, Gruner Veltliner

Rainer’s daughter Christina and her husband David have recently taken over this small estate in Eastern Austria, along the picturesque Danube. They are in the process of converting to organic viticulture. Gruner Veltliner is the signature grape variety of the region, producing wines with a rich, but fresh flavour, and a slightly spicy texture. ‘Sandgrube’ is the single vineyard from where all the grapes are sourced.
