TALGARTH MILL

Ty Tanglwyst Rhys and herd

A restored 18th century watermill in the heart of Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, Talgarth Mill once formed the beating heart of the area, grinding corn for local farmers until it fell into disrepair in hte 1940s. Today, Talgarth Mill ois a Grade II listedbuilidng and is the only working watermill in Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.

At Talgarth Mill they produce only wholemeal flour – they add nothing and take nothing away. The water-powered wheel powerfully turns the Mill’s machinery to allow a pair of millstones made from ‘French Burr Stone’ to grind the grain – which is sourced from farms and growers as local to the Mill as possible.

Talgarth Mill provide a thriving local hub for food, culture and sustainability where people walk out the gates feeling that little bit happier and more connected to the Talgarth community than when they walked in.They promote regenerative practices and provide high-quality food, events and educational workshops that draw upon the unique cultural and agricultural qualities of the area.
