Born out of an aim to bring customers authentically Welsh produce, grown by local farmers and packed in Wales, Puffin Produce launches the brand, Blas y Tir (Welsh for ‘Taste of the Land’) in 2011. Blas y Tir is the home of award winning fresh Welsh potatoes and 100% Welsh milk, packed and bottled in the heart of Pembrokeshire, from local Welsh farms. Deliciously simple, irresistibly Welsh!
Farmers are a vital part of everything they do. Not only do they grow the delicious Welsh produce they pack into every Blas y Tir bag, but they also own the business. These farmers have been working the land for generations and are now passing on their knowledge to the next generation. Working sustainably also means working to preserve the beauty of a unique landscape and support the region’s communities and wildlife whilst continuing to grow for Wales!
In 2013, Pembrokeshire Earlies gained the EU’s coveted ‘PGI’ product status (Protected Geographical Indicator), meaning this very special spud is protected for its name and quality.
