Bragdy Dwy Afon | Two Rivers Brewery started off as Cwrw Cader in Dolgellau, and they had been wondering how can you relocate that brewery to Aberystwyth – is it fair?
Every time they met, there were great ideas that would work well for a series of beers or specials. There were ideas that would work well if they only wanted to sell with a 20 mile radius…
They really liked the idea of a river being a flow forward, passing through its environment, smooth corners. They loved the idea of designs which incorporated maps, or tidelines, or contours. They finally settled on Two Rivers. Not hard to say in Welsh – Dwy Afon. Aberystwyth of course has two rivers, they meet in the harbour – the Rheidol and the Ystwyth. The name felt like a big nod to their location, but without being too land-locked. After all, lots of places have two rivers!
