Penderyn Patagonia is Penderyn Distillery's finest blended whisky in collaboration with Al Alanza from Patagonia. The Icons of Wales are special bottlings, each one celbrating a person, milestone or event from Wales.
28th July 1865: 153 people embark on the Mimosa, sailing for Patagonia to
establish a Welsh colony and preserve their language and culture. Expecting the green valleys of home, they found a desert. Times were difficult, but miners dug irrigation trenches and the settlers traded with the local Tehuelche people.
Today Patagonia has 50,000 Welsh descendants, 5000 Welsh speakers and holds annual Eisteddfodau.
