Bright straw yellow color, persistent foam crown and fine and persistent bubbles. On the nose it has a medium intensity with notes of green fruit such as apple, enhancing the aromas derived from aging without losing varietal typicity. On the palate there is a lot of tension and salinity on the palate enhanced by its fine perlage.
Albariño Granbazán Extra Brut was born from an incessant desire to show the versatility of this noble variety, to enhance its ability to show different edges of a product from the same raw material grown in different corners of this privileged Designation of Origin. A classic but innovative winery, under this duality that has characterized Bodegas Granbazán in its more than 40 years of history, we wanted to expand our horizon of still Albariños starting with tests in the production of base wines of quality sparkling wines since 2018, thus commemorating the production of Galician sparkling wines that dates back to the decade of the 20s.
The grapes come from the northernmost area of the Rías Baixas Designation of Origin, in the municipality of Vedra, north of the Ulla River. Here, at the end of the summer season, the grapes reach a low alcohol content and maintain a crisp acidity, which makes it the perfect place for the production of base wines. They are somewhat deeper soils compared to Salnés, with the presence of material derived from metamorphic rocks and rich in organic matter.
